Today marks the end of EuroBasket 2025. Which also means my stay in Riga is coming to an end. In just a few hours, Germany will face Turkey for the European championship title, and Finland will take on Greece in the battle for bronze.
This past week has been incredibly intense for me, both physically and mentally. I may not have played on the court, but attending team practices, press conferences, interviews, analyzing the games themselves, and then discussing them during my live broadcasts of “EuroBasket Small Talk” has been exhausting. But that feeling will bo gone soon. Looking back, I’ll only have good memories of this EuroBasket and my time in Riga. Great basketball watched live, fascinating people, engaging conversations, not just about sports.
Throughout my entire stay in Riga, I had the great pleasure of staying at Tallink Hotel Riga. And I wanted to share a bit about my experience.
You know what’s great? The European Basketball Championship will soon be history, but Riga and Tallink Hotel Riga aren’t going anywhere! They’ll be here for you now and in the future. So if you’re ever considering visiting Latvia’s capital, which I highly recommend, and you’re looking for accommodation, I can without any hesitation recommend Tallink Hotel Riga. It’s a perfect home base for exploring the city, but also a great place to unwind and recharge.
Let’s start with the highlight: the incredibly friendly staff! From the reception desk, through the restaurant staff, all the way to the housekeeping team. They make you feel right at home!

As for the room, I stayed on the seventh floor in a spacious place with everything I needed for both work and relaxation. Breakfasts were tasty, and the staff made sure everything was constantly restocked.

Speaking of relaxation, the hotel has a wellness area. The gym may not be huge, but it’s well-equipped enough for a solid workout. Right next to it, there’s a jacuzzi and sauna and their benefits need no explanation.

And if you’re a business owner looking for a place to hold conferences, meetings, or presentations for your company or partners, Tallink Hotel Riga might interest you as well. There are several rooms available in different sizes and styles. We used one, actually two, of their conference rooms during EuroBasket for our daily live streams.

Tallink Hotel Riga is located in a fantastic spot, right in the heart of the city. Just a short walk, literally a few to a dozen minutes from Riga’s most famous, iconic “must-see” landmarks, such as:
– Freedom Monument – 12 minutes on foot.

– Nativity of Christ Cathedral – 14 minutes on foot.

– House of the Blackheads – 17 minutes on foot.

– Three Brothers – 20 minutes on foot.

– Holy Trinity Church – 45 minutes on foot, 19 minutes by bus, 9 minutes by car/taxi.

– National Library – 30 minutes on foot, 14 minutes by bus, 7 minutes by car/taxi.

Tallink Hotel Riga, thank you for the wonderful hospitality!
